EU Energy Day focusing on clean energy research and innovation, organised within the World Future Energy Summit

The EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network would like to inform its members and friends about the workshop “EU's Clean Energy Future: From Technology Development to System Integration” organised together with the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission on January 16, 2018 within the World Future Energy Summit, in Abu Dhabi UAE.

This event focuses on energy research and innovation.

During the morning session of the EU Energy Day, senior representatives of the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission as well as key energy stakeholders will present EU's priorities to accelerate clean energy innovation in EU's biggest research and innovation funding programme Horizon 2020. The event aims to discuss opportunities for international cooperation with other countries to enlarge the portfolio of available clean energy options, to bring down costs, and to work together with EU leading research organisations, companies and champions to advance the global competitiveness of renewables in the period up to 2020.

During the afternoon sessions, the  Commission and the EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network are organising a meeting place for research institutions and innovative cleantech companies from the EU, the GCC and other regions to share their breakthrough technologies, renewable energy solutions for consumers and prosumers, and new solutions through digitalisation of the energy system.

Join the Network in more activities during the WFES:

Moreover, the EU GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, is a Knowledge Partner of the WFES and has a strong presence throughout the Conference and Exhibition.
In particular, the Network:
·         co-ordinates the Energy Efficiency Training Agenda, of the WFES seminars taking place full day on 17th January,
·         contributes with expert’s intervention in the Solar Training Agenda on the 16th January,
​·         Frank Wouters, Network Director chairs the breakfast meeting on 17th on: “The hydrogen society – disruptive innovation or an impossible dream?”
